1st Degree was formed around 2005 by two brothers, DRELL and Lo' Key. DRELL is the oldest, 25, and obtained his college degree as an accountant. He is currently working for Murphy & Associates and studying for the CPA exam. Mark Murphy aka Lo' Key, 22, is a full-time college student at UNO pursuing his degree in business management. While they have so much going on, this does not quench their hunger for being successful in the music industry. 1st Degree is currently seeking to perform at events, networking, just staying on the grind, and always coming up with new music. 1st Degree’s combination of spiritual and social awareness and their uncanny ability to appeal to the Southern club scene and the gospel music scene is unprecedented. 1st Degree’s flow, swagger, and delivery have the potential of attracted popped-out customers. With the release of its latest two singles, “Got That Rouge in Me” and “Can You Feel It”, 1st Degree Entertainment is gradually gaining popularity in the Southern Louisiana area. They seem to possess all the necessary qualities to spark a hip hop revolution and quite possibly the next social movement.
